Mastering My Mistakes in the Kitchen book tour travels to Los Angeles. Food & Wine Editor in Chief Dana Cowin will be in conversation with Roy Choi, chef genius behind the Kogi Trucks. Choi is also the first food truck operator to be named as one of Food & Wine magazine's "Best New Chefs" in 2010.

For this panel, Dana convenes some of the star chefs she reached out to for help in becoming savvier at the stove: Mario Batali, the outspoken Italian cooking genius and global superstar; Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli of New York City's Butter; and Andrew Zimmern, host of TV's Bizarre Foods and home cook extraordinaire. Together they'll discuss the basic mistakes every home cook makes; the strategies chefs rely on for correcting their own errors and turning potentially disastrous dishes into delicious ones; and the most mistake-proof kinds of recipes. Plus Dana and the panelists will talk about the nature of failure and success in broader terms and reveal how they've confronted setbacks in their personal and professional lives.
Food & Wine Editor in Chief Dana Cowin talks to star chefs who are becoming as known for their advocacy work and political clout as they are for their cooking. Panelists include Tom Colicchio of Craft and Top Chef and Dan Barber, the chef and co-owner of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns and author of The Third Plate. Together they'll talk about the most vitally important issues of the day, the power of food to help others and simple ways anyone can make a difference.
